Primary School ( Classes I to III )

The teaching methodologies for Classes I to III — is designed specifically for students of this age group, As children progress from the nursery to primary school, we focus on the educational foundations on which they can expand throughout their academic life. The curriculum is balanced between scholastic and co-scholastic activities, with a comprehensive syllabus. It covers languages, mathematics, science and social science as core subjects along with the additional skill subjects also. The curriculum also includes enrichment activities and other types of learning experiences. Art, music, and games are all part of the VVS B M SRI E I curriculum. Rather than the typical teaching style, the teaching method employs a learner-centred approach that promotes logical reasoning and critical thinking. The emphasis is on increasing the cognitive, social, emotional, and metacognitive skills, thus addressing the four major areas of learning. The curriculum seeks to educate children holistically. Learning mathematics is skill-based, with which students gain quantitative, computational, and spatial abilities. Languages include all aspects of communication, reading and understanding, and written expression. The Environmental Science (EVS) curriculum sharpens abilities such as observation, drawing inferences, teamwork and project work. Hands-on activities and a multi-sensory approach to the learning are used to build these skills.

Higher Primary school (Classes IV to VII)

The school curriculum is designed to build upon all that the students learn in primary school, and prepare them for high school. For the holistic development students are introduced to new concepts and subjects. The subjects taught in the middle school are English, Kannada, Sanskrit. General Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Art, and Computer Science, These subjects are taught based on experiential learning. The curriculum incorporates several co-curricular activities such as yoga, life skills classes, the Global Awareness Program, hobby classes, and other experiential activities during school hours to complement classroom learning.

Secondary School (Classes VIII to X)

The pedagogy of teaching for secondary school at VVS B M SRI EI is created with the learning needs of students in mind and is geared toward their complete development. It aims to shift away from rote learning and establish an environment in which students can learn, comprehend, and remember topics to apply in their daily life. During school hours, students participate in a variety of extracurricular activities such as yoga, life skills classes,interschool competitions, the Global Awareness Program, hobby classes, and experiential learning in different labs. Teaching at secondary school level involves multi-disciplinary approach

ASSESSMENT

We evaluate academic performances our students throughout the academic year to encourage continuous learning, rather than rote learning just before an exam.

We use several activities to help students retain concepts. Projects and practical work are also given to ensure students learn concepts better.

Periodic Tests and Individual worksheets are given to students at regular intervals during the academic year. The goal is to assess the student's grasp of concepts and, if needed, to eliminate existing learning gaps.

For classes I to X, Tests, Mid Term and Annual Examination are held in an academic year.

FEES

Fees for the entire term shall be collected even if the student attends only for a part of the term.

PROGRESS REPORT

Report on attendance, conduct and progress will be issued after each test and examination.

Parents should go through the report card after every test, affix their signature and return to the class-teacher within three days.

Test papers and Examination papers will be sent to the parents from time to time and these should be gone through and also signed by the parents and returned to the class teacher within three days.

Children will be assessed in their co-scholastic areas such as music, sports, arts and in certain psychological aspects like attitudes, aptitude etc., on a 5 point grade scale and added to the report card. Marks will be allotted for good hand writing and neat class work books.
